Grameenphone celebrates the UNESCO King Hamad Prize in ICT in Education Online schools of JAAGO Foundation had been providing quality education in remote areas of Bangladesh, through video conference system to the underprivileged kids. Along with its three conventional schools, JAAGO Foundation has been operating 10 of these online schools in Bangladesh in partnership with Grameenphone Ltd and Agni Systems Limited.
This “Online School “programme of JAAGO Foundation received the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa award in Paris on this 21st February for the innovative use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in education. To celebrate this achievement and reaching of this milestone for our country for the first time, Grameenphone invited some kids of JAAGO Foundation school along with its Founder, Korvi Rakshand, Senior managers and teachers of online school. This programme was also attended by Petter-B Furberg, CEO, Nehal Ahmed, Head of Communications, M. Hafizur Rahman Khan, Corporate Responsibility and Debashis Roy, Head of Corporate Responsibility of Grameenphone.
