'JAAGO Dhaka Gladiators'

On 27th January, 2012 the Abahani Maath in Dhanmondi witnessed a huge crowd buzzing with excitement. The ‘Dhaka Gladiator’ team unrevealing concert was the prime attraction of that Friday afternoon. Famous musician such as James and Hyder Hossain set the stage on fire. With a spectacular array of bands such as Lalon and Nemesis, this was one concert that was not to be missed.

The impressive player assortment of the team was showcased at this free concert for all! The team sponsors and owners were announced during this concert as well. This concert held significance for the JAAGO Foundation because it was announced as the charity partner of 'Dhaka Gladiators'. The team feels that by partnering up with JAAGO it can stand beside the underprivileged children and give them a wonderful experience of BPL along with international and local superstars.

Not only is this a very noble cause taken up by the ‘Dhaka Gladiators’, but it also makes them the pioneer in introducing charity partners in the Bangladesh Sports Arena. Worldwide the ‘English Premier League’ team Barcelona are the only ones that have a charity partner and host the name UNICEF on their jerseys with pride. ‘Dhaka Gladiators’ have surely proven their concern for the deprived by supporting the youth movement JAAGO leads to break the cycle of poverty through education. This initiative will set a strong example for not only for BPL but Bangladesh as well and in the long run more people will stand beside the unfortunate children of this nation.

The Founder of JAAGO Foundation, Korvi Rakhsand along with members from the JAAGO team was present at the event. The announcement was met with a round of applause from the entire crowd.
