“The Youth Wing of JAAGO Foundation, Volunteer for Bangladesh has been hosting an event named “A Conversation with Youth” – an initiative taken to connect the younger generation with professionals from various sectors.
On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child, to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.
Girls are breaking boundaries and barriers posed by stereotypes and exclusion, including those directed at children with disabilities and those living in marginalized communities. As entrepreneurs, innovators and initiators of global movements, girls are creating a world that is relevant for them and future generations.
We would like to introduce the International Girl Child Day to our youth in a very productive way. An event like A Conversation with Youth can spread the acknowledgment to our youth where we have 80% female and 20%, male participants. The theme of International Girl Child Day is Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable. We would like to have a few primaries topics regarding the theme for our Youth and these are:
· Girls are unstoppable
· Raise awareness of local and global challenges and issues facing girls
· Consider solutions for girl child
· Child marriage
· Girls Education
· Girls’ rights
· Gender-based violence
· Education inequality
