Position Summary

JAAGO is looking to hire a Strategy Product Manager, who shall be working intimately with the other organizational managers to:

  1. Foster sustainability within the organization;
  2. Create the right impact; and
  3. Ensure granting bodies and donors’ alignment with their mission.

The north star of the employee as a strategic product manager is to ensure that the Founder mindset is replicated throughout the organization among managers and they have a great deal of alignment with the Founders on what JAAGO’s goals are and what values they are bringing to the table as managers.

Job Responsibilities

  • He/ She will implement design thinking processes to diagnose issues and ideate solutions with other organizational managers.
  • He/ She will align organizational managers within the organization to set strategic goals and performance goals.
  • Establish effective project management frameworks, such as lean methodologies and scrum practices with other organizational managers.
  • Examine and ensure data hygiene and effective business intelligence practices.
  • Hire, train and transform staff with strategic duties into a high performing team.
  • Hire, train and transform staff with business intelligence duties into a high performing team.

Skills

The ideal candidate may have the following attributes:

  • Has considerable product management experience working in high growth start-ups for at least two years.
  • The candidate has a good quantitative aptitude and has an academic background in a quantitative discipline (for example, has completed a B.Sc. or equivalent degree in Engineering, Accounting, or Economics).
  • Some prior experience in data science in some capacity will be considered as an added advantage.
  • Is familiar with the concepts of North Star, OKRs, Design Thinking, Lean and Agile. The candidate will be expected to have practically applied these concepts at some point in their career.
  • Has attended a business incubator or accelerator program learning about entrepreneurship at some point.
  • The candidate is expected to be familiar with productivity tools such as word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and project management software (PowerPoint, Google Docs, Excel, JIRA). The candidate must have good command in spreadsheet skills.
  • The candidate has good command in written and spoken communication, specifically in English.
  • Prior voluntary or professional experience in impact driven work (in the development sector or social entrepreneurship) will be considered as an added advantage.
