Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh visits JAAGO Foundation.

“Denmark is the happiest country of the world” according to the World Happiness Report 2016, United Nations; replied one of our class 9 JAAGO Rayer Bazar School branch student, when asked whether they even know the country Denmark by Mikael Hemniti Winther, Ambassador of Embassy of Denmark in Bangladesh. He was amazed to see how much these kids are up-to-date with the present world knowledge!

With that amazement, today Mikael Hemniti Winther ,Denmark Ambassador to Dhaka, visited JAAGO Foundation with his spouse – Ratanawadee Winther, along with Mr. Quazi Nazmul Haque & Deputy Head of Mission- Jakob Haugaard and his family.

The guests were given a detailed tour of the entire JAAGO Foundation grounds by Our Founder Korvi Rakshand. First he shared the journey of JAAGO and its activities with them. The Ambassador was overwhelmed by hearing the inspiring story of JAAGO. He said , the impact JAAGO have in the society cannot be measured in any way because it is not only filling gaps of providing services, help assistance, but also are setting examples for the government, promoting democracy and inspiring leaders of the country. Afterwards the Ambassador had a very interactive session with the volunteers of Volunteer for Bangladesh, Dhaka district. He inspired the volunteers saying that ,young people are the ones who can bring positive change in the society and the volunteers of JAAGO has showed the need for people to get together and effectively work towards that change.

Later they were taken to visit our Online School Teachers’ Centre. The guests were very impressed and amused to see such an innovative initiative taken to provide education to underprivileged kids in remote areas of our country. They were very curious to know about the program in details and its curriculum. There, the Ambassador talked with the students of class 2 of our Rajshahi branch. He was very impressed by how the kids were efficiently answering his questions in fluent English. Then the guests were warmly welcomed by the children when visited the JAAGO Foundation, Rayer Bazar School. They took a detailed tour of the entire school, visited different classes and spent quality time with the kids. Everyone was highly mesmerized by the outspoken attitude of our students and about their life and ambitions.

Special thanks to our distinguished guests for visiting us and inspiring our students & volunteers with their stories. We also thank the volunteers of Volunteer for Bangladesh, Dhaka district for their hard work and active participation.
