Educate the Most Disadvantaged Children

Educate the Most Disadvantaged Children (EMDC)

Objective

The goal of this project is to provide innovative and digital interventions to help students catch up with their learning gaps and complete primary education, with a focus on gender equity and the inclusion of children with disabilities.

Project Summary

This project provides innovative and digital interventions to help students who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out due to the pandemic catch up with their learning gaps and complete their primary education.

Through this project, JAAGO Foundation provides innovative and digital interventions, such as the TaRL approach and blended teaching-learning approach, to help students who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out due to the pandemic catch up with their learning gaps. The goal is to address all children, especially girls and children with disabilities. A competency framework for each grade of primary level, with teaching-learning activities conducted in learning centres through physical interactions and online modality, is initiated. The project assesses students through formative assessment and tracks their learning achievements through an online tracking system. The concept of gender equity, sustainability, and rights in both intervention segments is ensured, with a participation ratio of over 50% for girls and 5-10% for differently abled children. The project also includes Communication for Development (C4D) initiatives and child protection through CBCPC, and the implementation of the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policy.

The impact of this project is significant as it addresses the learning gaps and educational challenges faced by marginalised and vulnerable children, including girls and children with disabilities, who are at risk of dropping out of school due to the pandemic. By providing innovative and digital interventions and using a competency-based approach, this project helps students catch up with their learning gaps and complete their primary education. The project also ensures gender equity, inclusivity, and child protection, which are crucial for creating a safe and enabling environment for children’s learning and development.

Overall, this project works to improve the educational outcomes and life opportunities of the children it serves, contributing to their overall well-being and long-term socio-economic development.
