Volunteer for Bangladesh (the youth wing of JAAGO Foundation) in collaboration with Unilever successfully celebrated “World Water Day” in Jessore & Lalmonirhat Districts. World Water Day is an United Nation initiative that is observed every year to create awareness on the 22nd of March 2016. This is year our theme is “Safe drinking Water Saves lives”. It is a day to celebrate the importance of water and make a difference for the members of the global population who suffer from water related issues. It provides an important opportunity to consolidate and build upon the previous World Water Days to highlight water’s role in the sustainable development agenda. This year’s campaign generated awareness through social media alongside creating door to door awareness among the locals regarding safe drinking water.
Around 100 volunteers participated in this campaign where the beneficiary group would be 2,800 students of Jessore and Lalmonirhat. Our VBD Volunteers placed enormous contribution where ten water purifiers, two water tanks and one water motor were successfully installed at two schools of Jessore and Lalmonirhat for providing safe drinking water to 2,800 school kids. Along with that, our volunteers engaged in a door-to-door awareness creation campaign about safe drinking water in the community.
This campaign is an initiative of Pureit Bangladesh and Volunteer for Bangladesh (the youth wing of JAAGO Foundation). We thank Pureit Bangladesh for supporting us to spread happiness in these communities. Click here to See More Photos.
