JAAGO Women Scholarship

Launched in 2022, the JAAGO Women Scholarship (JWSP) is a collaborative initiative between U-Go and the JAAGO Foundation, committed to breaking down the financial barriers that prevent girls from underprivileged communities in Bangladesh from accessing higher education.

This scholarship programme is designed to support academically capable but economically disadvantaged female students enrolled in public universities across Bangladesh. By providing financial aid and leadership development opportunities, the JWS empowers young women to continue their education, grow into confident leaders, and contribute meaningfully to society.

At its core, this initiative is more than just financial support—it is an investment in gender equality, community upliftment, and sustainable development. In enabling these students to pursue higher education, we lay the groundwork for a future where educational and career opportunities are no longer determined by gender or financial status.

Since its inception, the scholarship has supported 276 meritorious female students through its first two cohorts. With the launch of the third cohort, JWSP is ready to unlock the potential of even more ambitious young women. With the launch of the third cohort, an additional 277 scholars will be awarded, bringing the total number of JWSP scholars to 553. JAAGO is proud to continue unlocking the potential of ambitious young women across the country.

Who Can Apply?

The JAAGO Women Scholarship is open to female students who meet the following criteria:

Must be currently enrolled in or have secured admission to a public university in Bangladesh.
Must demonstrate financial need and/or belong to a disadvantaged or underprivileged background.
Must be currently enrolled in or have just been admitted to a public university in Bangladesh as a 1st-year student (2024-25 session).
Should have a strong academic record and be in good academic standing.
Must show a passion for voluntary and community involvement.

What Does the Scholarship Offer?

Selected students will receive:

Monthly stipends to help cover living and academic expenses, reducing the financial pressure and enabling them to focus on their education.
Coverage of tuition fees, examination fees, and study materials.
Leadership development training, career workshops, and networking opportunities to help prepare them for professional success.

By supporting these young women at such a crucial stage in their lives, the JAAGO Women Scholarship Program opens doors to brighter futures—for them, their families, and their communities.
