Brief description of JAAGO Foundation

JAAGO Foundation is a civil society organization (CSO) working towards the education and social mobilization of the underprivileged masses of Bangladesh. With its mission to fight poverty, JAAGO pioneered a Free-of-Cost International Standard School for underprivileged children in remote areas of Bangladesh. JAAGO’s Youth Development Program focuses on national development via the reallocation of skills and resources to foster self–reliance and growth in every young citizen.

  • Position Title: Admin Officer
  • Branch Name: JAAGO Foundation School, Rangpur Branch

Job Responsibilities

  • The Admin Officer is responsible for the smooth operation of the school operations, ensuring discipline, safety, security, logistics, health & hygiene etc.
  • Maintain the details of the expenses in the petty cash and prepare a monthly budget.
  • The Admin Officer must remain updated about the attendance details (absenteeism and late attendance) of the students and must be able to give updates to the Sponsorship Officer when there is an absence of students for 3 consecutive days and the reason behind it.
  • All the difficulties faced regarding admitting students and interviewing their guardians and parents should be dealt with by the Admin Officer.
  • He is also responsible for attending the visitor and giving him/her a tour of the entire school (including the office) to let him/her know about the organization (JAAGO Foundation) and the branch.
  • The Admin Officer will be responsible for maintaining the up-to-date inventory of all the assets and logistics of the school and the office.
  • The Admin Officer is responsible for maintaining the proper documentation (both hard and soft copy) of the legal papers of the school property, registration of the land, and so on.
  • Purchase hygiene products and the right food for nutrition according to the schedule at a reasonable price and distribute them in a timely manner.
  • The Admin Officer will be responsible for coordinating events by coordinating with the Education of teachers and students, such as celebrating special events.
  • He/she is responsible for managing volunteers through the proper chain, arranging for logistics, etc.
  • Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of the school and office.
  • The Admin Officer will be in charge of hiring staff other than teachers needed for the office and school by consulting with the HR of the head office.
  • Supervise Community Officers and Support staff.
  • Any other official task assigned by the supervisor.

Education

  • Graduation from a UGC-approved university.

Experiences

  • At least 2 years of experience in administrative role, preferably in an educational setting,

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective communication with students, parents, teachers, other staff members and local government authorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines is crucial.
  • Proficiency in using office software such as G Suit (Word, Spreadsheet, Drive)
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups of people, including students, parents, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Adept at identifying and resolving problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Precision in record-keeping, data entry, and administrative tasks to ensure accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a dynamic educational environment.
