JAAGO focuses on various sectors, including education, youth development, women empowerment, climate change, and governance. JAAGO provides free, high-quality education to children through conventional and digital schooling programs, serving 4500 students currently. Our Youth Development Program empowers 50,000 young citizens with skills and resources for national development. JAAGO addresses challenges faced by women and girls, offering alternative learning opportunities in underrepresented communities. JAAGO actively collaborates with local communities, women, youth, and marginalized groups to develop climate resilience and sustainable livelihood options. JAAGO promotes civic education to enhance youth civic participation, collective action, and leadership for effective societal change.

Position Summary

JAAGO Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive and dedicated Community Mobilizer- Bus to support the “Shopner Sharothi” project, specifically focusing on the Skills on Wheels component. Under this component a mobile training center (a transformed bus with all necessary training opportunities) will help us reach the remote upazilas of Cox’s Bazar & Bandarban districts directly, providing a continuous and stable learning environment. This initiative aims to empower adolescent girls and young women in Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban through skills development and education. The Community Mobilizer-Bus will play a vital role in engaging and mobilizing the community, conducting data collection, involving in P2E(Passport to Earning) related activities and tracking learner participation to foster a supportive learning environment and enhance the overall impact of the training programs. This position requires a passion for empowering participants and enhancing their employability. We encourage applications from candidates who are citizens of Bangladesh. Please note that the availability of this position is contingent upon project funding confirmation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and support learners in their journey through educational and skills programs.
  • Advocate for the significance of education and skills Developments among the youth.
  • Coordinate with communities, youths and stakeholders to facilitate outreach activities.
  • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly project progress to the Project Officer.
  • Engaging participants in P2E(Passport to Earning) Courses.
  • Represent JAAGO Foundation Trust during official field visits, project coordination and workshops.
  • Support all aspects of project implementation.
  • Ensure program quality, evidence generation, management of direct/indirect reports.
  • Promote learning and innovation by adapting tools and systems for data driven actions.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Experience: The applicants must have 1 year of working experience on community engagement programs or volunteering in related fields is required.

Skills and other competencies

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Passion for community development and youth empowerment.
  • Proficiency with training tools and technology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with diverse groups.
  • Strong writing and reading skills (clear, concise, and responsible communication suited to the interlocutor) in English and Bangla.
  • Ability to work under high pressure in unstable and frequently changing contexts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with all levels of staff and partners
  • Familiarity with Safeguarding is essential.
  • Background in community development or youth empowerment initiatives is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with participants and stakeholders.
