Divisional Coordinator, Digital Gender Norms

Position Summary:

The Divisional Coordinators of Dhaka & Khulna will be responsible for leading the implementation of JAAGO Foundation Trust’s Digital Gender Norms project, supported by BBC Media Action, within the assigned division. This role will focus on building digital awareness, addressing harmful gender norms, and empowering youth, adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) to engage meaningfully in the digital space. The Divisional Coordinator will manage field-level implementation, supervise Master Trainers, and coordinate with local stakeholders to ensure the project’s success. The position requires strong expertise in community mobilization, gender equality programming, digital literacy, and project management.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Project Implementation & Coordination

  • Oversee all divisional-level activities of the Digital Gender Norms project.
  • Supervise Master Trainers and Training Coordinators in planning and conducting awareness sessions, workshops, and training events.
  • Ensure timely implementation of project interventions and sessions in alignment with the logframe and donor requirements.
  • Act as the primary focal point for divisional operations and ensure smooth communication with the central project team.

2. Capacity Building & Training

  • Facilitate the recruitment and training of Master Trainers at divisional level.
  • Support in rolling out BBC Media Action-developed training modules for both trainers and community youth.
  • Ensure quality control in training delivery, providing feedback and mentorship to trainers.
  • Organize refresher training and knowledge-sharing sessions to strengthen field capacity.

3. Community & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and mobilize adolescent girls, young women, and community youth for project participation.
  • Establish partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, youth clubs, and local organizations to ensure outreach.
  • Engage with parents, teachers, local leaders, and other influencers to create an enabling environment for safe digital practices.
  • Advocate for digital inclusion and gender equity through divisional forums, community meetings, and awareness campaigns.

4. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

  • Monitor divisional activities and ensure adherence to project targets and quality standards.
  • Collect field data, success stories, and case studies to highlight project outcomes.
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and event-specific reports to the central project team.
  • Track attendance, participation, and impact metrics of all divisional-level sessions.

5. Communication & Advocacy

  • Act as a divisional spokesperson for JAAGO Foundation Trust’s Digital Gender Norms project.
  • Ensure visibility of the project through local media engagement and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with BBC Media Action representatives during project visits, workshops, and evaluations.
  • Promote safe and equitable digital practices among AGYW and the broader community.

6. Technology Integration

  • Support the implementation and use of digital platforms to enhance the learning and coordination experience.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with IT support as needed to ensure smooth digital delivery.

7. Risk Mitigation and Incident Management

  • Monitor fellow wellbeing and group dynamics, identifying early signs of stress, disengagement, or conflict.
  • Proactively mitigate risks related to program continuity, including logistic delays, natural disruptions, or online security concerns.
  • Act as the first responder for managing sensitive incidents such as participant distress, interpersonal conflict, or violations of community standards.

8. Safeguarding and Referral Coordination

  • Ensure all fellows and stakeholders are aware of and adhere to the program’s safeguarding policies.
  • Work in coordination with safeguarding officers, counselors, and relevant authorities in cases of any reported incidents.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards while supporting appropriate and timely resolutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education, Mass Communication, or a related discipline from a recognized university. Master’s degree will be preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in gender equality, youth empowerment, or digital literacy initiatives.
  • Experience working with international donors/partners (BBC Media Action or similar will be an asset).
  • Proven track record in managing community-level projects, supervising field staff, and building partnerships.

  • Conflict resolution and mediation skills.
