Education Coordinator (Teachers’ Supervisor), Digital School Program
Position Summary
JAAGO Foundation has several schools in rural areas where teachers based in Dhaka deliver classes virtually. We are looking for an experienced and organised Education Coordinator to supervise these teachers and monitor the smooth operation of the schools. The Coordinator will ensure that online lessons are effective, teachers are supported, and students in rural communities receive quality education.
Job Responsibilities
Monitoring (35%)
- Ensure proper teaching activities by reviewing lesson plans, digital teaching materials, and alignment with curriculum standards.
- Conduct regular online class observations to ensure effective teaching delivery and student engagement.
- Monitor student progress through assessment data, grade averages, and performance trends; identify poor-performing students and plan interventions.
- Regularly check assessment records (chapter-end tests, sudden tests, quarterly exams) and provide timely reports for improvement planning.
- Ensure online teachers’ deliverables of additional need-based tasks.
- Monitor and verify Online Teachers’ attendance and punctuality.
- Review student attendance trends and collaborate with teams to maintain attendance averages at or above 80%.
- Ensure online learning platforms, communication, and digital environments are maintained as per program guidelines.
Quality Education (35%)
- Provide timely academic feedback on concerns about lesson plans, digital classroom materials and practices.
- Plan and implement targeted support strategies to reduce the number of students performing poorly in assessments with the team.
- Build Teachers’ professional capacity through training, mentoring, and regular feedback sessions.
- Plan interventions to improve students’ learning.
- Strengthen collaboration between related team members to maintain a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Pursue self-development and professional improvement under the guidance of the supervisor.
- Support recruitment and orientation of qualified Online Teachers.
Program Operations (25%)
- Support in academic monitoring and guidance to ensure smooth implementation of digital school activities.
- Support in co-curricular activities, national day programs, and academic events by related team members.
- Ensure academic requirements for mid-term and final sessions (question papers, grading, results) are met on time.
- Provide academic support for challenges raised.
- Provide necessary academic inputs to the Supervisor, Admin, and HR for program-related activities.
- Maintain proper documentation of academic reports, teacher performance records, and student progress data as directed by the supervisor.
- Carry out any other academic or program-related task assigned by the supervisor or required by the organization.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any discipline. A major in Education, Early Childhood Development or English will get preference.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the relevant field. Experience in teaching in the Bangladeshi curriculum (English version) in the Primary section will be an advantage.
- Candidate should have excellent communication skills both in English & Bangla (Speaking and Writing);
- Have the leadership skills to motivate and manage teachers;
- Have excellent knowledge of the Primary Education curriculum;
- Good knowledge of online communication platforms, Google Docs, spreadsheets and slides.
- Has to be proactive, self-motivating and hardworking;
- Ability to work under pressure.
