Brief description of JAAGO Foundation Trust

JAAGO Foundation Trust is a non-profit development organization with a mission to eradicate poverty in Bangladesh through education and positive change. JAAGO focuses on various sectors, including education, youth development, women empowerment, climate change, and governance. JAAGO provides free, high-quality education to children through conventional and digital schooling programs, serving 4500 students currently. Our Youth Development Program empowers 50,000 young citizens with skills and resources for national development. JAAGO addresses challenges faced by women and girls, offering alternative learning opportunities in underrepresented communities. JAAGO actively collaborates with local communities, women, youth, and marginalized groups to develop climate resilience and sustainable livelihood options. JAAGO promotes civic education to enhance youth civic participation, collective action, and leadership for effective societal change.

About the Project

In partnership with CARE, funded by USAID, the JAAGO Foundation Trust will implement a five-year  (August 2023 to July 2028) project, namely BIJOYEE, focused on Positive Youth Development (PYD).  The BIJOYEE is a multiparters project and expected to be a five-year program that aims to empower young people in Bangladesh to achieve their full potential through life skills training and employment opportunities and to increase civic awareness and resilience to anti-democratic and violent extremist values among youth; strengthen youth participation in community improvements and decision-making processes; and improve the marketability and employability of youth to connect them to sustainable livelihoods and income generating opportunities.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Innovation Grant Officer to manage our grant programs aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. You will oversee the entire grant process, ensuring alignment with project objectives, and, monitor funded projects for compliance and impact. Engaging with stakeholders and supporting grant recipients, you will maintain comprehensive records and prepare detailed reports. Additionally, you will enhance the capacity of grant recipients through training and promote a culture of creativity, especially among youth. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Grant Management:

  1. Lead the strategic planning and execution of the entire grant application process, from
    soliciting innovative proposals to conducting thorough evaluations and selections.
  2. Develop and refine criteria for grant selection to ensure strategic alignment with
    organizational objectives and broader impact goals.
  3. Design and implement advanced metrics for evaluating the success and sustainability of grant-
    funded projects.

Advanced Monitoring and Compliance:

  1. Oversee comprehensive monitoring systems to ensure meticulous compliance with all grant
    guidelines and project requirements.
  2. Lead sophisticated impact assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness and broader
    implications of funded projects.
  3. Implement risk management strategies to preemptively address potential compliance issues
    and ensure project integrity.

Strategic Stakeholder Engagement:

  1. Foster and maintain high-level partnerships with key stakeholders, grantees, community
    leaders, and industry experts to ensure optimal project outcomes.
  2. Act as the primary liaison, offering expert guidance and support to grant recipients throughout
    the entire project lifecycle, ensuring their initiatives align with strategic goals.
  3. Lead strategic discussions and negotiations with stakeholders to secure additional resources
    and support for projects.

Comprehensive Documentation and Reporting:

  1. Oversee the maintenance of detailed, precise records of all grant-related activities, ensuring
    data integrity and accessibility.
  2. Lead the preparation and presentation of in-depth reports on grant utilization, project
    milestones, impact assessments, and financial accountability.
  3. Develop and implement advanced data analysis and reporting tools to enhance transparency
    and decision-making.

Capacity Building and Development:

  1. Design and deliver advanced training programs to significantly enhance the capacity and
    skills of grant recipients, ensuring high-quality project execution.
  2. Identify and facilitate opportunities for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and network-
    building among grant recipients and stakeholders.
  3. Lead initiatives to create resource hubs and support systems that promote continuous learning
    and innovation.

Innovation and Thought Leadership:

  1. Act as a champion for innovation and entrepreneurial thinking, inspiring and motivating youth
    to embrace a culture of creativity and initiative.
  2. Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to promote innovation
    within the community, including workshops, seminars, and innovation challenges.
  3. Serve as a thought leader in the field, representing the organization at industry conferences,
    forums, and, in public communications to promote its mission and achievements.

Program Development and Expansion:

  1. Drive the development and expansion of the grant program, identifying new opportunities for
    growth and increased impact.
  2. Develop strategic partnerships with other organizations, foundations, and corporate entities to
    enhance the program’s reach and resources.
  3. Lead efforts to secure additional funding and resources to support the long-term sustainability
    and expansion of the grant program.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Development Studies, etc.).

Experience: 

  • Minimum 4-5 years experience with donor-funded projects focused in grant management and, project evaluation. 
  • Experience working on USAID projects at a national and international level is highly desirable. • Strong organizational and communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with positive youth development principles is an asset. • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
