JAAGO Foundation is a civil society organization (CSO) working towards the education and social mobilization of the underprivileged masses of Bangladesh. With its mission to fight poverty, JAAGO pioneered a Free-of-Cost International Standard School for underprivileged children in remote areas of Bangladesh. JAAGO’s Youth Development Program focuses on national development via the reallocation of skills and resources to foster self–reliance and growth in every young citizen.
Position Summary
The Officer - Child Welfare Team will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall welfare of students under the Digital School Program. This includes monitoring the attendance of the students, counselling with parents and students, budget planning, student support, communication with stakeholders, data management, and assisting in academic and emotional development initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor students' attendance regularly.
- Counselling with parents and students to increase attendance and reduce dropouts.
- Coordinate the sponsor-child meeting, gift handover, and events.
- Manage student cases daily with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor student hygiene, nutrition, and health conditions and take appropriate actions as needed.
- Plan, prepare, and manage budgets for activities and events.
- Coordinate with HQ, schools, and sponsors to execute events and activities.
- Prepare, review, and edit student birthday charts, cards, and letters for sponsors.
- Draft and edit content to meet team and interdepartmental requirements.
- Prepare report cards for the sponsors.
- Communicate with JAAGO graduates, prepare budgets, and maintain expense logs for their higher studies.
- Manage, check, and update student data accurately.
- Collect and organize all necessary documents for student registration in examinations.
- Counsel students as needed to support their academic and emotional well-being.
- Track student records and maintain expense logs accurately.
- Assist in the JAAGO admission process.
- Conduct field visits to schools and other locations as required by the organization.
- Perform any other official tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Development Studies/ Social Work/ Education Psychology/ Psychology/ English or any relevant field.
Experiences:
- 1–2 years of experience in student welfare, child development, or a related field (fresh graduates with relevant internship experience may apply).
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Bangla.
- Ability to handle challenges and adapt to changing situations.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience in fieldwork or working with communities is preferred.
