Iftar with JAAGO 2024

Iftar with jaago 2024

As the sun began its descent on the horizon, JAAGO Foundation welcomed its family for a heartwarming celebration of unity, compassion, and generosity. The occasion? A day we all eagerly wait for, the annual iftar gathering of JAAGO Foundation, “Iftar with JAAGO”.

From our beloved students to their sponsored parents and partner organisations to donors, employees, well-wishers, and volunteers, the JAAGO family came together in full force, embodying the spirit of togetherness and solidarity. This event was truly a gathering of hearts filled with joy and eyes filled with the hope of a brighter future.

It was awe-inspiring to witness all our 4500 students break their fast together as they were connected to the event through video conferencing. For those who could attend the event physically, it was a unique opportunity to connect with their sponsor parents. While some sponsor parents were busy feeding their sponsored children, some were busy listening to the stories the children had to tell and, some adoring the children with gifts. For us, the happy faces of our students were truly the dearest reward of this gathering.

Throughout the evening, all the valued guests, including child sponsors and donors, had the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of their contributions, with heartwarming stories and testimonials shared by students whose lives have been transformed by the power of education. From tales of academic achievement to personal growth and empowerment, each story served as a reminder of the ripple effect of generosity and compassion.

Korvi Rakshand, founder of JAAGO Foundation, took the opportunity to thank all the child sponsors, partners and well-wishers of JAAGO for being with us and supporting us in our journey of 17 years. It is truly because of you we’ve been able to reach new heights in our efforts to break the cycle of poverty and empower the next generation of change-makers.
In an attempt to extend gratitude to the guests, 17 students, each from a different school year since 2007, took the stage and showed how far they have come because of education.

Reflecting upon our shared journey, guests also shared their experiences with JAAGO and stated how they are proud to be a part of the cause.

“I remember my father used to tell me that if you want to succeed, there’s no alternative to education. Something that stayed with me and motivated me throughout my life. But realising that there are children out there who are being deprived of this opportunity due to financial restraints broke my heart. I was determined to help them, even if it was one child. I wanted to gift them the light of education and when I started my lookout, I came across JAAGO. Since then, I have been with them, supporting the journey of two wonderful children, and I look forward to continuing my journey with JAAGO” – said a cherished sponsor parent at the event.

As the event drew to a close, there was a sense of gratitude and optimism in the air. For everyone gathered, “Iftar with JAAGO 2024” was more than just a meal; it was a symbol of hope, resilience, and the boundless potential of collective action. As we bid farewell to another successful event, we do so with renewed determination to continue our journey towards a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

In closing, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of “Iftar with JAAGO 2024”. Whether through your presence, your generosity, or your unconditional support, you’ve played a vital role in shaping the lives of countless children and families across Bangladesh. Together, we stand united in our commitment to education, empowerment, and social justice. Here’s to many more years of collaboration, compassion, and positive change. Ramadan Kareem from all of us at JAAGO Foundation.
