JAAGO’s ‘Gender-Sensitive Content Award 2025’ acknowledges content creators and influencers challenging gender stereotypes through digital platforms

Empowering Youth for a Safer Digital Future
Under the Shomotay Tarunno Project, 156 emerging social media content creators from all eight divisions of Bangladesh were trained in gender equality, leadership, ethical storytelling, and responsible digital behaviour. The initiative aims to empower young people as catalysts for social change and to help build a just, inclusive, and safe digital ecosystem in Bangladesh.
Following the training, an open call was announced for participation in the Gender-Sensitive Content Award. An independent jury panel was formed to select the most impactful videos that challenged gender stereotypes through powerful visual storytelling. All winners and nominees were celebrated at the award ceremony. More than a recognition of talent, the initiative sought to amplify youth voices and create a ripple effect—fostering a culture that challenges harmful stereotypes and negative gender norms across digital platforms.
Culture, Creativity, and Activism
In observance of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 2025, the event also featured cultural performances. Youth cultural team Bhoirobee staged a short drama highlighting gender issues, Anandita Khan and team staged a dance performance, and singer Karishma Sanu Sovvota delivered a musical performance, reinforcing the message of equality through art and expression.
