We are thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration between JAAGO Foundation and The Khan Foundation through their “Land for Schools Project”. This partnership marks a significant step towards advancing the welfare of the students of JAAGO Foundation Dinajpur School.
The Khan Foundation is a charity organisation that provides education and health services, with a focus on improving the lives of people from underserved communities. They advocate for policy changes, engage in community outreach, and foster partnerships with other organisations to maximise the impact. The organisation believes in the power of collaboration and collective action to create sustainable change.
During a recent visit to Bangladesh, Munzurul Khan, Chair of The Khan Foundation and Purabi Khan, Co-founder & Board Member of The Khan Foundation, went to Dinajpur district, a poverty-stricken area in Northern Bangladesh. Recognising the need for access to quality education in the region, specifically for children from underserved communities, they decided to partner with JAAGO Foundation to help us acquire land for our Dinajpur school.
In Bangladesh, owning land is crucial for sustaining quality education and facilitating enrolment in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations conducted by the Educational Board of Bangladesh. However, this was a challenge for us due to the lack of resources and funding. As an effort to help us overcome this challenge, The Khan Foundation launched the “Land for Schools” project.
The Khan Foundation’s goal is twofold: to address the immediate impediments in Dinajpur and to empower underprivileged students by enabling them to sit for SSC examinations from JAAGO Schools. This milestone is crucial in their academic journey and holds the promise of a brighter future.
Thanks to the generosity and support of The Khan Foundation (TKF), a 2,023 square meter area of land has been successfully secured in Dinajpur through the “Land for Schools” project. This significant achievement marks a crucial milestone in our mission to advance education and social development in underprivileged communities.
With this newly acquired land, we ensure the continuous education of 360 students annually at the JAAGO Foundation Dinajpur School. Additionally, this initiative secures the sustainable livelihood of 22 teaching and non-teaching staff members from the local community, further enhancing the socio-economic fabric of this highly impoverished region.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Khan Foundation for their incredible support and collaboration. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of underprivileged children and communities, empowering them to realise their educational aspirations and build a brighter future.
This success in Dinajpur is just the beginning. The Khan Foundation remains committed to expanding its efforts across Bangladesh, ensuring that every child has access to quality education and the opportunity to thrive.
