Paving the Way to Global Opportunities: Empowering JAAGO Women Scholars for a Brighter Future

Since 2022, JAAGO has been empowering the dreams of extraordinary young women through the JAAGO Women Scholarship Program, providing financial aid to meritorious female public university students from underprivileged backgrounds. Together, we’ve supported 276 brilliant minds, each striving to create a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Now, we are taking this mission further, preparing these incredible women to shine on the global stage. Recently, we hosted an inspiring event with 25 of our scholarship recipients—a transformative experience to select two exceptional scholars who will represent their peers at the prestigious 2025 Global Conference in Vietnam.

This day was far more than an event; it was a celebration of resilience, ambition, and the boundless potential that exists within these young women. It was a reminder that when given the opportunity, they can transcend barriers and become leaders, changemakers, and global citizens.

Nurturing Communication Skills for Leadership

The day commenced with an engaging workshop focused on effective communication—a skill that forms the backbone of leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. By sharing insights from his professional journey, our trainer equipped the participants with tools to articulate their ideas and engage meaningfully in discussions.

The session featured an impromptu speaking activity where each scholar selected a random topic from a jar and delivered a speech on stage. This exercise tested their creativity, adaptability, and public speaking skills while encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones. The courage and enthusiasm displayed by the scholars were truly inspiring, a reflection of their determination to grow and succeed.

Learning Adaptability for Enriching Global Experiences

Adding to the event’s richness, was the second session on self-representation and cultural adaptability. Our trainer emphasized the importance of presenting ideas with confidence, building meaningful networks, and embracing diverse environments. Through group discussions on assigned topics, participants demonstrated their communication prowess and critical thinking abilities. Each group’s performance was assessed by a judge, whose evaluations highlighted areas of strength and growth for the scholars.

Polishing Professionalism

Our next session focused on professional etiquette and presentation skills. Our trainer’s guidance provided the scholars with practical tools to excel in formal settings, ensuring they carry themselves with confidence and grace.

Rigorous Assessments to Identify Future Leaders

To conclude the selection process, three interview panels comprising experienced judges conducted individual interviews with the participants. The interviews were designed to assess their knowledge, critical thinking, and communication skills. Each scholar was evaluated on their responses and overall presentation, marking a significant step in identifying the representatives for the Vietnam conference.

Each and every scholars participated in these session wholeheartedly and took this as an opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Their bright smiles and hope filled eyes reflected the programs success. Among these incredible young women, Fawzia Ahmed Prapti stood out as a shining example of resilience. Despite being visually impaired, Prapti’s determination and hunger for knowledge inspire everyone she meets. Her story reminds us of the extraordinary potential that lies within each individual, regardless of the challenges they face.

“Participating in this selection event has truly expanded my perspective on the future. It reminded me of the importance of stepping out of my comfort zone, sharing my voice, and being open to learning from others. It has inspired me to aim higher, not only for my own growth but also to contribute to something bigger. I now feel more empowered and motivated to embrace opportunities that align with my values and passions”, said Umma Sadia Prapty, a participant in the event.

“Being a part of this selection event focused on communication skills, etiquette, confidence-building, and professionalism is significantly impacted my future outlook by equipping me with essential soft skills that are crucial for personal and professional growth.”, said another participant, Kanij Fatema.

Building Bonds and Sharing Stories

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the day was the camaraderie among the scholars. For many, this was their first opportunity to meet peers from diverse backgrounds from across the nation. The event became a space for storytelling, laughter, and the sharing of experiences.

As the day came to a close, it was evident that every scholar walked away with more than just memories. They left with new skills, renewed confidence, and an unshakable belief in their potential to make a difference. For the two scholars selected to attend the Global Conference in Vietnam, this marks the beginning of an incredible journey that will undoubtedly inspire their peers and communities back home.
